What happens if I miss a dose?

I’m not just living with HIV, I’m learning from it. Having a routine gave me the focus to pay more attention to myself.”

We all forget things, but with HIV treatment, it’s very important to take your medication on time, every day. It may also help to share with your healthcare provider all the medications, supplements, and vitamins you take, and how easy or difficult it is for you to stay 100% adherent to your treatment regimen.

How Are Medication Resistance and Missing a Dose Related?

Missing even a few doses may allow the HIV virus to spread in the body by making copies of itself and can cause drug resistance. Drug resistance is when HIV changes and makes your medications not work as well. Be sure to let your doctor or healthcare provider know if you’ve missed a dose.

What To Do If You Miss a Dose Of Your HIV Medication:

  • Take PREZCOBIX® exactly as your healthcare provider tells you.
  • You must take other HIV medications at the same time as PREZCOBIX® once daily with food.
  • Do not change your dose or stop treatment with PREZCOBIX® without talking to your healthcare provider.

It can also help to share with your healthcare provider all the medications, supplements, and vitamins you take, and how easy or difficult it is for you stay 100% adherent to your treatment regimen.
